Hong Kong March 29,
2000 - PSINet Hong Kong Limited, a subsidiary
of the Internet Super Carrier PSINet Inc., announced
that its General Manager for Marketing and Operations,
Ms Catherine Mok, will change to be responsible for
business development and strategic marketing for PSINet
’ s operations in China and Taiwan, effective from March
24, 2000.
Ms Mok joined PSINet Hong Kong, formerly LinkAGE Online,
in 1996, as a key driver of the company ’ s Internet
business development. During her tenure, she has committed
in the company ’ s strategic marketing, customer service,
product development and general business management.
All of which has contributed to the company ’ s good
reputation, solid position and rapid growth in the market.
In her new endeavor of General Manager for Marketing
in China and Taiwan, Ms Mok will oversee marketing and
business development in the two places as well as to
explore new market opportunities. Ms Mok said that she
looked forward to entering the competitive China and
Taiwan market as there are plenty of opportunities for
investors to pursue. In China, there are currently more
than 6 million Internet users. The speedy acceleration
of the Internet growth attracts tremendous investment
from local and overseas Internet corporations, and PSINet
is ready for the battle.
On the other hand, the Taiwanese market is one of the
largest in Asia and PSINet has just acquired JoinNet,
one of the leading ISPs in Taiwan. By introducing a
suite of industry-leading Internet services and applications
to this fast growing market, PSINet believes they can
successfully penetrate into the Chinese market, the
top IT developing countries.
