Network Status about IPASS

By default, IPass service is blocked in the following countries:
* Belarus
* Russia
* Ukraine
* Saudi Arabia
* Uzbekistan
* Yemen

If you plan to use IPass in these countries, please contact our customer service hotline at least 24 hours before you set off.


Area Affected: China

Description/Detail: All locations are having sporadic difficulties. DNS is not being assigned to certain numbers: Numbers below can add the DNS entries to gain proper access:

  • Shenzhen (755) 229 5220 => DNS IP address : 203.93.104.2

  • Wuhan (27) 272 8289 => DNS IP address : 203.93.112.1

  • All other regions of China => DNS IP address: 202.72.0.43

Status: iPass is currently working to solve this problem and hope to have a remedy shortly.

Area affected: All locations.

Description/Detail: Customers using 56K modems may receive modem negotiation problems.
Status: To achieve connection, the laptop modem must be configure to send negotiation requests at 33,6 or below.

  • If the modem supports Kflex (Rockwell chipset) 56K modem, to disable 56K modulation and enable V.8 using the following command : The generic command is +MS: 11,1,300,33600,0,0 Some modem manufacturer may not strictly implement the command given above. Please contact your modem manufacturer if the above does not work.

  • If the modem supports both V.90 and X.2 56K modulation, disable both of them and enable V.8 using the following AT-command : ATS32=98

  • If the modem supports only the X.2 56K modulation, disable it and enables V.8 using the following AT-command : ATS32=34
